Kristi and I attended the CrossFit Level 1 Cert at Brand-X in Ramona, CA June 13-14. It was an awesome weekend and an unforgettable experience. It started off with us just popping into Brand-X to check it out on the night before the Cert. We got to meet the owners Jeff and Mikki Martin, who run the CrossFit Kids program and do all the scalings for the mainpage workouts, and their son Connor who is already a firebreather at just 17. The Martins are really down-to-earth people and they invited us out to dinner with them and some of the Brand-X crew.
The cert itself was one of the most awesome experiences of our lives. The level of instruction was top notch with some of CrossFit's elite athletes and coaches including Greg Amundson, Josh Everett, Drew Thompson, Stephan Roche, Rachel Medina, Andy Stumpf, Nicole Carroll, and Dave Castro. Besides being incredible coaches they are also some of the nicest people you could ever meet, ready to answer any and all questions, always giving a positive vibe, and constantly making you want to push yourself to be better and go harder. But the icing on the cake was the surprise appearance by Coach Glassman himself. He stopped by for a Q&A session and I got to talk with him a bit. The weekend was such a great experience, we both are pumped up to get things moving here on Maui.
Robert! Just heard from Mary about your blog. LOVE it! Hopefully I will find time to check it out regularly. Hope all is well. Way to go and thanks so much with your help at the track. I will be forever indebted to you and will figure out how to make it up to you one day. The gals love you and Kristi both!
